Day 1º|SAT - Guatemala City - Guatemala City - Guatemala Airport
Reception at the airport and transfer to our hotel in Guatemala City. Overnight in Guatemala City.
Day 2|Sunday - Guatemala - Chichicastenango - Lake Atitlán
Breakfast. Departure to the Guatemalan highlands to the town of Chichicastenango, where we will visit one of the most famous indigenous markets in Latin America. This day we will have an experiential visit, where we will have a workshop with the local women to learn how to make corn, the staple food of Guatemala. After the visit we will continue to Lake Atitlan, which Huxley said to be the most beautiful lake in the world. Overnight.
Day 3|MON - Lake Atitlán - San Juan La Laguna - Santiago Atitlán - Lake Atitlán
Breakfast. Today we will take a boat to visit two of the twelve villages that surround this beautiful lake. We will visit the Tzutuhil village of San Juan La Laguna characterized by the harmony in which its inhabitants coexist with nature and culture. We will continue to Santiago Atitlán, a town inhabited by Tzutuhil Indians who live from fishing and handicrafts, although they are better known as worshipers of a Mayan-Catholic deity they call Maximón. Overnight.
Day 4|TUE - Lake Atitlán - Iximché - La Antigua
Breakfast. Departure to the city of La Antigua Guatemala. On the way, we will visit the archaeological site of Iximché, ancient Mayan capital of the Cakchiquel kingdom. Upon arrival in La Antigua, orientation visit of this colonial city declared a World Heritage Site, we will visit the Cathedral, La Merced Church, the Central Plaza and its main streets and monuments. Overnight.
Day 5|WED - La Antigua
Breakfast. We will have the day free to enjoy La Antigua, strolling through the cobblestone streets, appreciating its architectural styles of yesteryear or resting in the hotel facilities. As an optional activity, during the morning, we recommend an excursion to the Pacaya Volcano. Overnight.
Day 6|THU - La Antigua - Joya del Cerén - Suchitoto
Breakfast. Departure to El Salvador, a country considered the best kept secret in Central America. After immigration formalities, arrival at the archaeological site of Joya de Ceren, declared world heritage of humanity by Unesco. After the visit, continuation to Suchitoto. Overnight in Suchitoto.
Day 7|FRI - Suchitoto
Breakfast. Today we will take a walking tour of Suchitoto, visiting its beautiful cobblestone streets, art galleries, handicraft houses, its central park and the Church of Santa Lucia. Afternoon free for optional activities such as indigo workshop or boat ride on Lake Suchitlán. Overnight.
Day 8|SAT - Suchitoto - Tazumal - Santa Anta - San Salvador
Breakfast. Departure to the archaeological site of Tazumal, the most important Mayan ceremonial center of El Salvador. Continue to Santa Ana, the second most important city in the country. We will visit its charming historic center, the national theater, the central square and the gothic style cathedral. Arrival in San Salvador in the afternoon. Overnight in San Salvador.
Day 9|SUN - San Salvador - El Salvador Airport.
Breakfast. Transfer to San Salvador airport. End of our services.
