ITINERARY:
Day 1: Buenos Aires
Arrival, assistance and reception by our staff at Ezeiza Airport and transfer to the selected hotel.
Day 2: Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure for a city tour: we will discover the essence of Buenos Aires on an exciting guided tour of its main attractions. We will immerse ourselves in the diversity of this vibrant city as we explore its iconic monuments. From the emblematic Obelisk to the historic Plazas de Mayo, San Martin and Alvear, the bustling avenues Corrientes, De Mayo and 9 de Julio to the charming neighborhoods of La Boca, San Telmo and the elegant Palermo and Recoleta. In addition, we will visit modern areas such as Puerto Madero, enjoy the relaxing Lezama and Tres de Febrero parks and explore the commercial and financial districts. Rest of the day at leisure. Day 3: Buenos Aires - Ushuaia
Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, transfer to Jorge Newbery airport to board the plane to Ushuaia. Arrival, assistance and reception by our staff at the airport and transfer to the selected hotel.
Day 4: Ushuaia
Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, we will head for Tierra del Fuego National Park (entrance fee included). This park takes its name from the first European explorers who saw the landscape illuminated by the bonfires lit by the local inhabitants, as it is located in the southernmost part of the continent. On this excursion, you will also have the opportunity to embark on the End of the World Train, a unique experience.
The End of the World Train will take us to see the Fuegian Southern Railway, a 7-kilometer route that follows the legend of the "Train of the Prisoners". Originally, this route started at the prison in the center of the city of Ushuaia. Only prisoners rewarded for their good behavior were authorized to perform this forced labor, which consisted of fetching firewood to heat the prison and the growing city of Ushuaia that developed next to it.
At that time, the prisoners were transported with shackles on their legs and back to back in precarious freight cars. Nowadays, the departure is from the "Fin del Mundo" station aboard a replica of the "Trencito de los Presos" (Prisoners' Train). Visitors travel the same route that the convicts used to take decades ago to supply the city with firewood. The current cars are modern, heated and have windows to enjoy the best views of the route. The train restarted operations in 1994 with a purely tourist focus.
Along the journey, you will enjoy centuries-old forests, rivers, peat bogs and see the reconstruction of an indigenous settlement. The ride also includes a stop at the Macarena waterfall and, in the last 3 kilometers, we will enter the Tierra del Fuego National Park. This train experience is an exciting addition to a visit to the National Park.
At the conclusion of the train experience, passengers will meet their respective vehicles and guides to tour the entire park and then return to Ushuaia. You will have the afternoon free to explore the city, and we recommend you consider the option of sailing the Beagle Channel.
Day 5: Ushuaia - El Calafate
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to El Calafate. Arrival, assistance and reception at the airport by our staff and transfer to the selected hotel.
Day 6: El Calafate
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion to Perito Moreno Glacier (P.N. entrance included), an immense white and blue-toned river declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. From the Glacier National Park we enter the walkways that are arranged in three levels, from which we can observe spectacular panoramic views of the glacier contemplating the periodic detachments of its front.
Leaving from the pier Bajo las Sombras, we will make the Nautical Safari along the Brazo Rico to appreciate the ice floes coming from the Perito Moreno Glacier. From the boat we make a walk in front of the south wall of the glacier at an approximate distance of 500 m., with the possibility of observing detachments of the glacier front of 60 to 70 m. high. In this excursion we have the possibility of observing with a totally different perspective the impressive walls of the Perito Moreno Glacier and its landslides over the waters of the lake.
Day 7: El Calafate - Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time transfer to the airport to take the flight to Buenos Aires. Arrival, assistance and reception by our staff at the airport and transfer to the selected hotel.
Day 8: Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time transfer to Ezeiza international airport to board the flight to the city of origin.
