Day 1: Quito
Reception at the airport and transfer to the selected hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 2: Middle of the World Tour and Hummingbird Reserve
Early morning departure to the northern part of the city, stopping at the Pululahua volcano viewpoint, one of the few inhabited craters in the world. We’ll continue for about 45 minutes to reach a conservation project in the Chocó Andino cloud forest, visiting one of its protected reserves. Here, you’ll enjoy a short walk to observe over 30 species of hummingbirds and a variety of birds in their natural habitat, providing an excellent opportunity to relax, connect with nature, and take stunning photographs.After leaving the reserve, we’ll visit the Middle of the World Complex (entrance not included). Your guide will lead you through replicas of ancestral homes, interactive experiments showcasing physical phenomena unique to the equator, and the iconic monument honoring the French scientific expedition that pinpointed the equator’s exact location. Inside the monument, visit the ethnographic museum to learn about Ecuador’s indigenous cultures and nationalities. Your tour pass includes unlimited access to all attractions, allowing you to customize the visit according to your interests. At the end of the day, return to your hotel.
Day 3: Mindo Cloud Forest Tour
Depart early in the morning heading northwest from Quito. Your guide will highlight the attractions along the way as you journey toward the Chocó Andino cloud forest conservation project. Visit one of its protected reserves, where you can walk among nature, observing hummingbirds and other unique bird species. Continue to Mindo, where the adventure begins with a cable car ride deep into the cloud forest, named for the mist that blankets the area most of the year, contributing to its incredible biodiversity.At the other side of the cable car, hike through the forest to Nambillo Waterfall, perfect for nature enthusiasts and photographers. Afterward, return to the town of Mindo for lunch (not included) at a local restaurant recommended by your guide. In the afternoon, enjoy a butterfly sanctuary and visit a chocolate factory to taste one of Ecuador’s finest chocolates made from premium cacao beans and learn about its history (entrance not included). Return to Quito in the evening.
Day 4: Cotopaxi National Park + Quilotoa Tour
In the early morning, head south along the Avenue of Volcanoes, where you may glimpse peaks such as Pasochoa, Corazón, and the Illinizas if the weather permits. Arrive at Cotopaxi National Park to visit the Interpretation Center, where your guide will share insights about the world’s highest active volcano. Continue to Limpiopungo Lagoon for a scenic walk to observe birds and plants adapted to the cold climate.The tour continues to Quilotoa Volcano, passing the Tigua community, known for its Andean-themed handicrafts, and stopping at the Toachi River Canyon viewpoint. At Quilotoa, enjoy a stunning view of the turquoise lagoon within the crater. If weather and time allow, take a short hike to admire the impressive volcanic scenery. Free time for lunch before returning to Quito.
Day 5: Quito
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time until your flight. Transfer to the airport, marking the end of our services.
