ITINERARY arriving to CDMX Sunday
Day 1 Sunday ARRIVAL IN MEXICO CITY -- Arrival at Mexico City International Airport, reception and welcome by NILTZE MEXICO TRAVEL staff. During the transfer to the Hotel the guide will give indications about the tours. Check-in at the hotel (rooms will be delivered from 3:00 p.m. onwards). Lodging (this day it is not possible to include breakfast or lunch).
DAY 2 Monday MEXICO - QUERETARO - SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE - After breakfast, we will depart from the hotel to Queretaro where we will stop to visit the temple of the cross, as well as the aqueduct, an impressive architectural work of the colonial period that supplied this city with drinking water. We continue to San Miguel De Allende visiting the parish church of San Miguel Arcángel of Neo Gothic style, the Temple of Nuestra Señora de la Salud, the Temple of San Antonia de Padua as well as the Instituto Cultural Allende and in our walk through this town we will visit the first gasoline pump that existed in this place, the House of the Dogs that receives this name due to its decorated balconies and Noah's Ark as well as a pharmacy that still preserves the old style of the preparation of the medicine formulas. *Note: This day you must vacate your room and leave with your luggage, overnight in San Miguel Allende.
DAY 3 Tuesday ATOTONILCO - GUANAJUATO - GUADALAJARA - After breakfast we will depart to the Sanctuary of Atotonilco, known as "Sanctuary of God and the Homeland" considered by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage of Humanity and by many others as "The Sistine Chapel of America" due to its cultural importance and architectural contribution to the Mexican Baroque. We will continue to the city of Guanajuato, known as "The Cervantine Capital of America", where we will hear the legend of the Callejón del Beso, as well as the spectacular Teatro Juárez. At the end of the tour, departure to the city of Guadalajara, where we will walk the streets of the city also known as "The Pearl of the West" where we will witness its beautiful architecture, we will see the Degollado Theater, Hospicio Cabañas, the Cathedral and the Government Palace among others. DAY 4 Wednesday HACIENDA TEQUILERA - RANCHO DE LOS 3 POTRILLOS - TLAQUEPAQUE - After breakfast, departure to the Hacienda Tequilera where we will learn about the process of making tequila, observe the blue agave jima and taste this nectar and learn about the legend of its discovery, We will continue our visit to Tlaquepaque where we will stroll through its colorful streets and find the finest craftsmanship of Mexican hands, enjoy the wonderful atmosphere full of nice boutiques, restaurants and mariachis. Arrival in Guadalajara.
DAY 5 Thursday PATZCUARO - MORELIA - After breakfast included departure to the city of Patzcuaro, ancient capital of the Purepecha kingdom, city founded in 1534 we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Health, the house of the Eleven Patios, Gertrudis Bocanegra Library, with its mural painted by the master Juan O 'gorman, the Plaza de Don Vasco de Quiroga and its typical market. The tour will continue to Morelia. Check in at the hotel. *Note: This day you must vacate the room and leave with luggage, overnight in Morelia.
DAY 6 Friday MORELIA - MEXICO- After breakfast we will visit the city of Morelia "the city of the Pink Quarry", founded in 1541, considered by UNESCO "World Heritage Site" which has one of the most beautiful examples of Hispanic American baroque architecture of the XVII and XVIII, among which are: The Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Plaza de Armas, the Clavijero Palace, its Monumental aqueduct and the Church of La Lupita, the beautiful square with its fountains. At the end of the tour we will leave for Mexico City. *Note: This day you must vacate your room and leave with your luggage, overnight in Mexico City.
DAY 7 Saturday CUERNAVACA - TAXCO - After breakfast we will leave for Cuernavaca, the "City of Eternal Spring". There we will visit the Historic Center with its beautiful Cathedral, the oldest in Mexico. We will continue to the Magical Town of Taxco, a small colonial town located at the foot of the slopes of the Sierra Madre del Sur, with a unique style of architecture which stands out for its cobblestone streets and white houses with stucco and red tile roofs. The iron balconies on the windows are usually overflowing with beautiful hanging flowers. Taxco is also known as the silver producing capital of Mexico so you will find a wide variety of silver items to buy. We will enjoy some free time on the cobblestone streets, visit the cathedral of Santa Prisca and enjoy the atmosphere of a typical Mexican town. Return to the hotel, overnight.
Day 8 Sunday TOUR CD DE MEXICO - COYOACAN - XOCHIMILCO - After breakfast included we will start the tour of the Historic Center of the "City of Palaces" as it was once called for its beautiful colonial buildings, you will visit: Constitution Square or Zocalo, the National Palace with the famous murals of Diego Rivera (if the authorities allow it) the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral and the ruins of the Templo Mayor Azteca (from pre-Hispanic times) panoramic view of the main avenues and monuments. We will continue the tour making a stop in the center of Coyoacan, located in the south of Mexico City, with perhaps the most pleasant atmosphere for its quiet streets and stately mansions, in which it is possible to walk through its beautiful squares, art galleries and restaurants. Then we continue to the ancient canals of Xochimilco, cultural heritage of humanity, where we will embark a typical trajinera (boat) decorated with bright colors and appreciate the chinampas (islets with crops of flowers and vegetables) and the most typical Mexican tradition. On the way back we will pass by the University City (UNAM) to admire the murals of Juan O'gorman, the Olympic Stadium Mexico 68, the National Library and the Rectory buildings. Return to the hotel.
Day 9 Monday BASILICA - TEOTIHUACAN - MEXICO - After breakfast included we will go to the Plaza de las Tres Culturas and see the old market of Tlatelolco, continue to the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Sanctuary of the Patroness of Mexicans, where we can admire the genuine mantle of Juan Diego with the Virgin, time to hear mass guaranteed. We will continue our tour to the archaeological site of Teotihuacan, where we will visit the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, as well as other ruins of equal importance, plus a brief explanation about the elaboration of pulque "El Licor Blanco" (traditional drink of pre-Hispanic Mexico) and obsidian craftsmanship. Return to the hotel.
DAY 10 Tuesday MEXICO CITY AIRPORT - After breakfast at the scheduled time transfer to the airport to take the flight back home (independent of the time of transfer to the airport, the room must be vacated by 12:00 noon at the latest, i.e. half a day). END OF OUR SERVICES (This day it is not possible to include lunch or dinner).
